Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 September 2026 · Last updated: 23 September 2026
Overview
The I Research Technologies Limited (trading as The I Research; “we,” “us”) is a company registered in the United Kingdom with its place of business in London. This policy covers this website at theiresearch.com, including Rewrite, a tool hosted on it. Our products are operated under their own privacy policies, listed below.
This website (theiresearch.com)
This website uses lightweight, privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns, including how visitors reach our site (direct, search, or referral links). This relies on basic traffic statistics from our hosting platform and self-hosted server logs. We process standard URL parameters (including UTM parameters) so that we can attribute visits to their source.
We do not use cookies, cross-site tracking, advertising identifiers, Google Analytics, Google or Meta ad pixels, or any data to profile individual visitors.
Rewrite (theiresearch.com/rewrite)
Rewrite is a free tool on this website that cleans up text you type or dictate. It requires no account. To provide it, we process the following:
Text you submit. When you press Rewrite, or when a recording finishes, the text in the editor is sent to our server and forwarded, via Cloudflare AI Gateway, to Amazon Bedrock (Amazon Web Services), where an OpenAI GPT model produces the rewritten version. Your text is processed entirely within Amazon Bedrock and is not shared with OpenAI; Amazon Web Services does not use Bedrock inputs or outputs to train models.
Audio you record. The microphone is used only after you start recording and only until you stop. The recording is then sent to our server and forwarded, via the same gateway, to ElevenLabs for speech-to-text transcription. Recordings that contain no detectable speech are discarded in your browser and never uploaded. ElevenLabs retains recordings and transcripts under its own privacy policy.
Rate limiting. To keep the tool free and prevent abuse, we count requests per IP address. Counts expire after one minute, are held only in memory and are not written to disk or combined with other data.
What we keep. The gateway keeps a log of each request and its response, including your text or audio and the result, so that we can monitor the quality and cost of the service and investigate problems. Our own servers keep only error and diagnostic messages (such as request size and processing time), which do not contain your content. Gateway logs are visible only to us, are not used to train models, sold or used for advertising, are retained only for these purposes and are deleted on request.
International transfers. These providers process data in the United States, so your text and audio leave the United Kingdom. Transfers rely on the providers’ standard contractual safeguards for UK personal data.
Why we process this. We process your text and audio because it is necessary to provide the tool you have asked to use. Rate limiting and the logs described above rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the service available, secure and affordable.
Sensitive information. Please do not use Rewrite for text or speech that contains sensitive personal information about yourself or others.
Our products
BentoAI (bentoai.app) is operated by The I Research Technologies Limited. It involves user accounts, uploaded content and payments, and is governed by its own policy at bentoai.app/privacy. This website policy does not apply to BentoAI.
Future products will likewise publish their own privacy policies and will be listed here.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. We keep no accounts or visitor profiles; beyond the aggregate traffic data described above, the only personal data we are likely to hold is in the Rewrite request logs. To exercise any of these rights, use the contact details below.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the effective date above.
